THE CHALLENGE
Create an interactive photo booth that lets users snap a selfie and watch it instantly transformed into their own Duolingo-inspired avatar through AI : a fun way to drive brand engagement !
HOW I CONTRIBUTEDAs Web Project Manager, I oversaw the complete lifecycle of this AI Avatar Generator. I collaborated closely with designers on UX/UI creation, briefed our motion designer, ensured client feedback was integrated throughout, led daily technical standups, and actively participated in technical architecture discussions. I personally handled QA testing across all environments. Reaching approximately 9,000 users, this project remains one of my proudest achievements.
If the user is positioned incorrectly in front of the camera, which could affect the AI's processing of the photo, the shutter button is disabled. Eddy then tells the user how to reposition themselves.
Zari asks the user if they like the photo. If so, they can confirm. If not, they can retake a photo or exit the experience.
The user's photo transformed into a Duolingo character will be available in their email inbox within a few minutes due to technical choices made during product development.
